1st Grade Teacher - St. Malachy School

St. Malachy Catholic School, located on the west side of Indianapolis in the growing town of Brownsburg, is a preschool through 8th grade Catholic school with an enrollment of 520 students and two classrooms for each grade level. St. Malachy is seeking a faith-filled 1st grade teacher for the  school year. The teacher in this position will be responsible for planning and implementing daily lessons for 1st grade students.

The ideal teacher candidate has both a strong knowledge of the Indiana standards at the 1st grade level as well as current best practices to meet diverse student needs.

• Plan and implement daily lessons for 1st grade students.
• Design and facilitate engaging lessons.
• Utilize formative assessment to guide instruction and provide ongoing student support.
• Create a positive classroom environment with Christ at the center.

• Strong faith and willingness to share that faith with students throughout each subject area taught.
• Ability to work collaboratively with grade-level team members, other grade level teachers, special education, and special area teachers, as well as all support staff.
• Excellent organization and communication skills while being flexible.
