Job OverviewWe are currently accepting applications to fill our Part Time Art Instructor position. Bachelor’s degree in art is required, and applicants must have experience working with children. A preference may be given to certified Art Education Teachers with experience. We are looking for an art teacher to lead some of our camps this summer and take on classes for our fall curriculum.
Children’sArt Classes
All supplies and a full, structured curriculum are provided. Please look at our website for a full description of the courses we teach.
Ages 5-18. Intro to Art (ages 5-6), Beginning Art (ages 7-8), Art 1 Foundational Course (ages 9-18), Art 2 (ages 10-18), Art 3 (ages 11-18), Advanced Art (ages 12-18)
Core classes are small and capped at 12 students per class.
Educators must be able to instruct techniques in 40 different studio art mediums, including ceramics. Please research our school prior to the interview.
- We have a 9-month studio art curriculum (September‑May), with summer workshops June & July.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a BFA (required)
- In‑classroom teaching experience preferred
- Curriculum delivery experience
- Strong classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young artists—from littles to teens
- A team player who cares about students, quality of education, coworkers, the community, and our school’s success
- Effective and exceptional classroom management and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Integrity, transparency, and honest communication—please do not misrepresent yourself
- Must be able to work at least two weeknights and Saturday mornings during our school year calendar (September‑May). Some Saturdays are off for Fall break, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
- Most teachers work four nights a week.
- Teacher may fill in for planned absences or emergencies
- Willingness to help cover summer camps, special events, open houses, and clay workshops.
