Overview
Responding and reacting to production problems in a timely and efficient manner while performing maintenance projects, PM tasks and work order tasks.

- Operate and maintain all plant and facility support equipment, including but not limited to ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, Steam system, etc.
- All electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Exceed all "B" Mechanical Qualification.
- Attend IPM 10‑Minute Meetings as assigned.
- Write work orders on issues discussed in IPM 10‑Minute Meetings.
- Follow Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures at all times.
- Respond to radio calls in a timely manner.
- Assist at all times with keeping the plant running as smooth as possible while working on maintenance projects and performing PM tasks.
- Recognize waste and recommend initiatives for elimination or reduction.
- Clean all maintenance work areas at the end of the shift.
- Preventive maintenance on equipment scheduled through PMC.
- Write special or new part requests.
- Repair equipment scheduled through PMC.
- Familiarize with searching parts in the PMC system.
- Write and modify status changes to work orders in PMC.
- Issue parts out of inventory.
- Ensure parts used are issued to the equipment in which they were used.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Write work orders as needed.
- Working knowledge of power tools.
- Maintain proper documentation of plant equipment.
- Adhere to GMP, HACCP compliance, and other food safety and workplace safety initiatives.
- Follow attendance policy, observe department call‑in procedures, exhibit timely arrival and departure, and dependable time habits, including meal and other breaks.
- Maintain a positive attitude, get along well with coworkers, exhibit teamwork and willingness to help others.
- Follow dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
- Be relied on to complete assigned tasks.
- Comply with established departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Work within a team environment to meet or exceed established production standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and managers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to read, write and understand instructions, warnings, labels and postings in English effectively.
