The Store Team Leader assists the Store Leader, Assistant Store Leader, management team, and staff to execute store operational goals of the annual operating plan. The Team Leader makes judgments involving customers, team members, operational issues, business planning, priority setting, compliance with company policies, and all areas of the business.
Responsibilities- Staff Management and Development – 30% – Provides coaching and training to hourly employees on daily tasks; participates in recruitment (pre‑screening, interviewing); seeks professional development opportunities.
- Operations – 60% – Completes day‑to‑day tasks and suggests efficiency improvements; represents Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values to customers and staff.
- Financial Management and Reporting – 10% – Acts as steward of resources; tracks and measures sales, production goals, and donations.
- Degree and Credential Requirements – None. Demonstrated capability and relevant experience required.
- Supervisory Expertise – Oversees work of others directly or indirectly in a service‑related industry.
- Coaching – Provides timely guidance and effective feedback to strengthen knowledge/skills.
- Communication Skills – Articulates ideas effectively orally, in writing, visually, and verbally, with listening skills.
- Customer Focus – Builds and maintains customer satisfaction, provides excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Technical Knowledge – Familiarity with computers and relevant software (basic computer and Internet navigation).
- Results‑Oriented – Recognizes important results and takes steps to achieve goals.
- Critical Thinking – Uses judgment and reasoning to evaluate solutions.
- Ethical – Adheres to procedures, maintains confidentiality, follows Goodwill’s values.
- Industry Expertise – Experience in a warehouse environment, knowledge of organization planning, inventory control, equipment maintenance, teamwork, documentation, and data entry.
