Special Education Teachers provide individualized instruction, support, and services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
- Adapt and modify general education curriculum to accommodate students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
- Implement behavioral management strategies and support students’ social-emotional growth.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions.
Qualifications:
- Required: bachelor’s degree
- Certification: Valid Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Preferred: Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
