Temporary Security Guard - Unarmed

Job Summary

This is a temporary security guard position (4–6 months) with a 7:00 pm–7:00 am shift. The role is essential to maintaining safety and security on a manufacturing site where production areas must be manned beyond the end of a scheduled shift to ensure worker safety.

• Ensure that only authorized individuals and vehicles enter the facility.
• Log information as required for facility entry and deliveries.
• Communicate company guidelines to contractors and document agreement to comply.
• Remain alert and focused at all times while on post.
• Diligently monitor surroundings for abnormal situations and take action, as needed.
• Enforce procedures to prevent theft of company and/or personal property.
• Enforce parking lot safety rules.
• Respond calmly, promptly, and effectively to plant emergencies.
• Follow company security guidelines.
• Manage phone systems.
• Maintain housekeeping and 6S standards.
• Identify quality issues and attain established productivity standards.
• Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.
• There is mandatory overtime associated with the role depending upon the needs of the business.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently licensed as an Unarmed Security Guard in good standing by the state of Tennessee.
• Ability to successfully complete TN Unarmed Security training annually.
• Must successfully complete a TBI/Criminal Background Check, pre‑employment physical exam, and drug screen.
• Previous experience in site security.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.

• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other standards.
• Stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist, and turn as needed to perform the job.
• Climb ladders and stairs multiple times throughout the shift.
• Communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Wear required safety equipment.
