AP/AR Bookkeeper (Temporary-to-Hire) About the Opportunity
Hiring a detail-oriented and motivated AP/AR Bookkeeper. This position is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to grow professionally within a finance environment.
This role provides hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, budgeting support, and financial reporting. High-performing individuals may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent position with future advancement into more analytical accounting and finance roles.
Responsibilities- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including posting payments and customer account maintenance
- Post checks, cash receipts, ACH transactions, interest entries, corrections, and adjustments
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Create and process check vouchers while ensuring proper account coding and allocations
- Prepare checks for approval and distribute approved payments
- Maintain vendor files, including W-9 forms and supporting documentation
- Assist with budget tracking, expense verification, and financial reporting activities
- Process recurring accounting transactions such as prepaid expenses, depreciation, insurance entries, and pool payments
- Prepare annual 1099 and 1096 filings
- Generate statements, revenue reports, and supporting documentation for monthly reporting
- Respond to accounting inquiries and assist with daily finance department operations
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the initiative to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills highly preferred
- Experience with Quick Books, MIP Fund Accounting, or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Desire to learn, grow, and develop within a finance and accounting career path
