POSITION SUMMARY

The Receptionist provides front office, administrative, and clerical support to the RYSS Texas Public Schools Pasadena Campus and serves as a primary point of contact for students, parents, employees, visitors, and community members.

This position is responsible for maintaining a professional, welcoming, organized, and efficient front office environment while assisting with daily campus operations. The Receptionist greets and directs visitors, manages incoming calls and communications, supports student arrival and dismissal procedures, assists families with enrollment and lottery questions, maintains front office records, and provides general administrative support to campus leadership and staff.

The Receptionist must demonstrate professionalism, excellent customer service, confidentiality, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced school environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College coursework in business administration, office administration, education, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of administrative, clerical, receptionist, customer service, or related experience required.
  • Experience working in a school or educational environment preferred.
  • Experience working directly with students, parents, employees, and the public preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, employees, visitors, and community members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, employee, and organizational information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple responsibilities and interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a campus team.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve routine concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, files, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in computers, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and other standard office technology.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use district student information and administrative systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and campus needs.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
