Job DescriptionREQUIRED:
Must have a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English (can submit a High School Transcript) and meet one of the following requirements:
Option 1- Forty‑eight (48) college level hours from an accredited institution of higher education and/or possess an Associate’s (or higher) Degree (required in English) (Student Academic Record not valid must be an official transcript)
- Have experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent. Experience may be work in church–related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed daycare centers, or similar experience
A current Brownsville ISD employee with a valid Educational Aide certification, High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in English required and have met a rigorous standard quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local assessment knowledge and ability to assist in instruction. (TOPS training)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Enters and updates P.E.I.M.S. information for Career and Technology programs student enrollments.
- Assists Career Counselor in completing student follow‑up and other T.E.A. required reports.
- Provides supplementary instructional support to Career and Technology students (Reading, Math, Career Awareness, etc.).
- Assists teachers with purchase orders and prepares instructional materials.
- Creates an effective environment for learning for the students; uses timely, functional and attractive displays.
- Maintains an environment that is conductive to learning and maintains a clean, orderly study area.
- Assesses students’ interests and aptitude (TEA required of all students).
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
- Maintains professional growth by attending in‑service and meetings as requested/required.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $16.50 Per Hour
