Central Christian Church is prayerfully seeking a Preacher/Pastor who loves Scripture, values shared leadership, and desires to shepherd a growing congregation with humility, faithfulness, and clarity. We are looking for a pastor who is deeply rooted in biblical teaching, aligned with the Restoration Movement, and eager to serve within a collaborative, elder-led church culture.
The Preacher/Pastor will serve as a shepherd, teacher, and elder, providing biblical preaching, teaching, and pastoral care while working collaboratively with fellow elders, staff, and the congregation. This role emphasizes faithful proclamation of Scripture, relational ministry, and active participation in the life of the church.
The primary focus of this role is the faithful preaching and teaching of Scripture, with other pastoral responsibilities carried collaboratively alongside the elders.
Primary Responsibilities Preaching & Teaching- Preach the Sunday morning worship service for the full congregation.
- Participate in unity services (once or twice per year) where English and Spanish congregations worship together; sermons are typically translated.
- Teach adult Sunday School classes as needed.
- Lead a morning Bible study.
- Teach a Wednesday class.
- Bring creativity, depth, and faithfulness to preaching and teaching, with openness to developing sermon series, classes, or teaching formats that align with Scripture and the church’s mission. CCC values flexibility and welcomes thoughtful vision in teaching.
- Provide hospital visitation for members and their families.
- Visit homebound and shut-in members.
- Share in the shepherding and pastoral care of the congregation alongside fellow elders.
- Maintain an active, visible presence in the life of the church, including:
- Wednesday night programming
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)
- Major church events and mission‑focused activities
- Foster strong relationships across generations and within a bilingual church context.
- Serve as an Elder, equal in authority with other elders—neither higher nor lower.
- Work within a shared, elder‑led leadership model.
- Collaborate with elders who:
- Meet monthly to oversee church business, finances, prayer needs, and facility matters.
- Serve actively as teachers, greeters, communion leaders, VBS volunteers, and ministry leaders.
- Attend elder meetings alongside church staff, except when personnel matters require confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing discussions about church structure, leadership development, and member involvement as the church continues to refine and strengthen its leadership culture.
