Lead Teacher
Required:
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience with G/T students
- G/T core training and on-going professional development relating to addressing the needs of gifted learners
- Ability to travel between campuses
Preferred:
- Evidence of strong presentation skills
- Experience with co-curricular/extra-curricular programs for advanced students
- Training in interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary, project-based learning, and/or accelerated curriculum
The role of the Lead Teacher is to assist in implementing plans and procedures for establishing and maintaining effective Gifted and Talented, Honors, Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, Early College High School, and/or all advanced curricular / co-curricular, or extra-curricular programs in the department. The lead teacher will provide expertise to teachers in analyzing and improving the instructional techniques required for implementing quality education for advanced learners in the district in a manner consistent with local Board Policy and with the statutes and standards of regulatory agencies.
The lead teacher is responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student. The Lead Teacher is also tasked with ensuring teachers, counselors, administrators, and campuses stay in compliance with all program requirements and support campuses meeting and exceeding program outcome-based measures.
