AVID Teacher - BECHS

REQUIRED:

* Bachelors Degree

* Valid Texas Teacher certificate (9-12) in area of assignment

PREFERRED:

* Three (3) years teaching experience.

* Masters in subject area or masters plus 18 graduate hours in subject area (able

* to teach dual enrollment);

* AVID training.

* Core Training; and

* Pre-AP and/or AP training in core area (Math, Science, Social Studies, and

* English Language Arts).

Special Knowledge

Skills:

* Knowledge of all state and college testing requirements and standards;

* Demonstrated success with improved student performance;

* Ability to incorporate technology and media into instruction and student assignments;

* Knowledge of dual enrollment;

* Knowledge of the AVID program and its goals; and

* Knowledge of the structure of UTRGV/TSC and the ability to work with college representatives from every department.
