You have built a career coaching young people — not instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means connecting, challenging, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's best effort. Instruction means delivering material. You've never considered yourself a content delivery mechanism.
Alpha operates one of the most unconventional schools you'll encounter. Students don't occupy rows while listening to lectures. They progress through AI-driven learning applications at individualized speeds. AI manages the academic instruction. Your responsibility is delivering life skills workshops that capture and hold the attention of K-8 students, leading motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when students attempt to disengage.
The academic side runs itself. You manage the human dimension.
This position offers a meaningful growth path, and that path is expanded student impact. Guides who reliably achieve their targets (100% cohort achievement of weekly app goals, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other educators in executing this work more effectively. Students remain the central focus.
The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission — transforming what a child believes about their own potential — rather than adding a line to your resume, submit your application.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, maintaining focus, and giving and receiving feedback
- Administering Test2
Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have genuinely acquired the skill, not merely attended the session - Leading daily motivation sessions that leverage student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app advancement goals
- Utilizing storytelling techniques, incentive systems (school currency, leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome student resistance
- Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a target of 90%+ on student surveys
- Lecturing from the front of a classroom. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered applications, not through direct instruction from you.
- Supervising passively. Children working on computers is simply the environment; active engagement defines the role.
- Compromising standards when students resist. Test2
Pass requirements remain consistent, regardless of individual student circumstances during any given week. - Creating curriculum independently. Workshop playbooks and lesson plans are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and storytelling ability that ensures genuine student absorption.
- Handling parent communications, running admissions processes, or overseeing campus operations. Those functions belong to different positions.
