The Special Education Behavior Intervention Teacher provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher enables students to develop competencies and skills necessary for successful functioning in society.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification or an Alternative Certification Program (ACP)
- Eligibility Letter for Special Education Certification
Preferred:
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Generalist, Core Subjects, or Elementary Self-Contained Certification
To qualify for the ACP alternative certification, the candidate must have passed the Special Education exam from the ACP Program.
