• Valid State of Texas Certification in one of the following:

    Grades 6-12.
  • Trade and Industrial
    
    Education:
    
    Grades 8-12. This assignment requires appropriate work approval.
  • Eligibility letter from an Alternative Certification Program.
• Work Experience Requirement:
  • Option 1 - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution - two (2) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching.
  • Option 2 - Associates’ degree from an accredited institution - two (2) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching.
  • Option 3 - High School Diploma or equivalent - five (5) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching.
• NCCER Craft Instructor Certified (Preferred)

The role of the Building Trades Education Teacher is to provide instruction in construction, carpentry, residential building systems, blueprint reading, safety practices, and related trades. The teacher prepares students for careers in the construction industry through classroom instruction, laboratory activities, hands‑on projects, industry-based certifications, and other related duties as assigned.
