Job DescriptionProvide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of the Special Education ECSE Teacher includes:
- Design, implement, and evaluate individualized programs and instructional materials.
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement behavior intervention plans.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification or an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) Eligibility Letter in Special Education and Generalist, Core Subjects or Elementary Self-Contained.
- Must have passed the Special Education and Content exam from the ACP Program.
Preferred:
- Bilingual Certificate or the ability to become Bilingual certified within the current school year.
- General knowledge of curriculum & instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
