Project OverviewBechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984‑acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth.
At full capacity, the five‑train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Job SummaryIn this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinate subcontract work activities, and develop the team. Your oversight will ensure that crafts have the necessary tools, comply with project policies and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Major Responsibilities- Leadership / Supervision
- Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
- Oversees the preparation of field material requisitions for tools and consumables, ensuring crafts have the needed resources.
- Safety & Quality
- Ensures that the most current design documents are used and that all design changes are approved before implementation.
- Ensures subcontractor performance complies with specifications and schedules and stays within budgets.
- Technical
- Works with construction field engineers, foremen, and craft professionals to interpret engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Oversees engineering solutions with subcontractors, foremen, and crafts.
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation relating to field activities.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy and relevant project handbooks and safety manuals.
- Experience on an LNG construction site, especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience aligned with the work to be undertaken.
- Preferred experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generation construction.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving ability.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include night or split shifts. Physical requirements include extensive walking on a construction site in high heat and humidity, climbing ladders, scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Adequate PPE must be used as required.
