Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth.
At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The ES&H Technical Analyst manages ES&H statistical reporting for projects or GBU functions, analyzing data to identify trends. The role supports process and system improvements related to reporting and preparing documentation and dashboards using Power Bi or similar tools and handles technical data analysis tasks as assigned. This position reports to the GBU ES&H Manager.
Major Responsibilities- Contributes to the development of processes, procedures, methodologies, and systems relevant to the work area, including preparation of appropriate documentation of reports.
- Researches, gathers, and develops data to submit reports on Bechtel and other project stakeholders’ ES&H statistical performance.
- Analyzes data to aid in benchmarking and use in various project level and GBU reporting.
- Maintains the ES&H statistical data for a given area of responsibility which includes entering, sorting, and manipulating data in a web-based data records management system and other project-specific databases.
- Prepares confidential reports that may include injury data resulting from lost-time accidents and/or fatalities.
- Ensures confidentiality of data prepared and reported as necessary.
- Monitors, reviews, and evaluates governmental regulatory and resource agency data reporting and their impact on Bechtel statistical reports.
- Develops and aids in the implementation of processes to meet governmental, Customer, and Bechtel reporting requirements.
- Manages user authorization/access to the Corporate ES&H safety data system (IRIS).
- Trains personnel in system requirements, methodology, and use of the IRIS.
- Recommends improvements to streamline the reporting process and/or web-based data records management system.
- Participates in senior-level ES&H meetings to discuss and provide further analysis on findings.
- Prepares reports for submission to regulatory agencies (e.g., preparation and submission of the OSHA 200 log).
- Helps develop ES&H initiatives and awareness campaigns with performance trend and other related information
- A Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college related to data management, analytics or computer science with 1 to 2 years of relevant technical experience; or an Associate’s degree related to ES&H with 2 or more years of relevant technical experience.
- Knowledge and understanding in the field of data collecting, analysis, and statistics.
- Proficiency and experience in researching published industry statistics for comparison and benchmarking purposes.
- Attention to detail and thorough proofreading skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of data management systems and computer hardware/software, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and diverse report development experience.
- Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
- Adaptable to work in a project (site) environment.
- Previous experience with data analysis and administrative reporting subjects.
- Knowledge of regulatory recordkeeping requirements (e.g., definition of a recordable, restricted or lost-time case as used by regulatory agencies as exemplified by OSHA, HSE, and EPA).
