SR. IT WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEERSpaceX is looking for an experienced wireless network engineer with a strong background in designing, deploying and managing wireless networks in an enterprise environment. This employee will be a member of the Network Engineering team, which is responsible for managing SpaceX's wireless networks across all sites. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight.
The position will be heavily focused on designing, building and troubleshooting wireless networks. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work, excel at multi-tasking and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.
- Design access point placements for new wireless network deployments.
- Work closely with the network infrastructure team to ensure access points are deployed in desired locations and to our standards.
- Perform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps/performance concerns and implement remediation efforts.
- Troubleshoot wireless issues across a large enterprise deployment.
- Schedule and perform software and hardware updates.
- Procure and manage wireless hardware inventory.
- Monitor wireless network health using in-house and 3rd party tools.
- Create and maintain proper documentation of our wireless networks across all sites.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other engineering discipline and 5+ of years professional network engineering experience; OR 7+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Expert understanding of wireless/RF technologies.
- Experience with CBRS deployments.
- Hands on experience with the following:
- Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies.
- Cisco DNA Center.
