Principal Oracle Database Administrator

Workdays:
Monday through Friday, full‑time onsite

Work Hours:

8 hours per day, start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Occasional weekend support may be required for installations and upgrades.

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic professional services engineering team. The role involves providing dedicated support to a single customer, troubleshooting and resolving a variety of database issues independently, and managing multiple tasks with proactive communication with both the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of supporting medium‑to‑large‑scale Oracle databases.

• Maintain and troubleshoot pluggable and containerizable Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
• Perform Oracle Database upgrades and apply patches as needed.
• Validate Oracle 19c backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
• Monitor and resolve database performance issues.
• Provide on‑demand support for database‑related concerns, collaborating with Oracle support when necessary.
• Act as the first line of support, assisting onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff with product challenges.
• Monitor and optimize the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters, using tools such as Grafana for metrics.
• Analyze system logs to proactively address potential issues.
• Develop and present detailed software deployment plans.
• Communicate daily with customers and Everfox management, providing activity summaries and trip reports when applicable.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The information below represents a high‑level overview of the environment you will support.

• Database Configuration:
  Oracle 19c database server running in a cloud environment.
• Current Database Size:
  Not in production yet; expected to begin in Q3 2025.

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility obtained within the past two years.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and professional experience.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Gov Cloud, or Google Cloud.
• At least one DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program certification at IAT Level II or higher.
• Ability to obtain appropriate work authorizations required by U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable government agency.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience performing the tasks outlined in the Key Responsibilities.

• Experience with N‑Tier architecture.
• Experience with Java application servers.
• Oracle certifications: OCA, OCP, OCM.
• Certifications from Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, Symantec, or VMware.
• Physical Demands:
  Primarily sedentary, but may need to assist with installing and racking servers and network equipment at the customer location.
• Additional Duties:
  Duties may change as determined by the customer or Everfox management.

Base salary range: $ – $ USD. Actual salary may vary by experience, locale, and business needs.
