Job SummaryOversee secondary operations (barcoding and fabrication) personnel and production, working to maximize operator and machine utilization while ensuring safe work practices, quality products, and controlled inventory. Respond to down machinery via protocol and oversee repair material and supplies needed for optimal run times.
ShiftMust work 2nd Shift: Monday to Saturday, 2:45pm to 11pm, 48 hours per week. This is a fully onsite role. Must commute daily to the Brownsville, TN plant.
Responsibilities- Ensure operators follow policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to review safety, quality, and productivity.
- Complete reports to track production and report on progress.
- Ensure work instructions, quality documentation, tools and materials are provided.
- Verify all new employees are trained and have completed required checklists.
- Review production paperwork and file correctly.
- Coordinate product movement between finished goods warehouse and production area.
- Oversee setup technicians in daily changeovers and assure LOTO and LOTO audits complete.
- Complete TSO (Job Task Safety Observation) weekly.
- Ensure safety training complete each month by due date.
- Manage quality complaints and complete reports.
- Support continuous improvement projects.
- Plan daily operator workload to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Perform monthly safety audits and maintain 5S standards.
- Ensure protective equipment is worn properly.
- Submit timecards weekly.
- Provide feedback on direct reports’ performance.
- Communicate with other departments professionally.
- Lead and direct employees to achieve daily performance goals.
- Support compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Support training initiatives and track progress.
- Escalate non‑conformities, failures, non‑compliant behaviors or poor workmanship per policy.
- Provide constructive feedback and issue discipline as necessary.
- Knowledge of standard production environment.
- Knowledge of pipe fittings by fit, form, and function a plus.
- Understanding of good manufacturing practices.
- Ability to lead a large number of employees in daily production processes.
- Ability to manage inventory in and out of department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Results‑driven with ability to manage change while maintaining a positive environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook) and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
- English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Basic mathematical and counting skills.
- Good memory for part numbers; ability to solve multiple problems simultaneously.
- Interpersonal skills to relate to all personnel and interface with colleagues.
- Lift 25pounds up to 3feet high.
- Operate pallet jack and remove full pallets from secondary operations to finished goods warehouse.
- Good hand‑eye coordination for labeling parts.
- Walk or stand up to 12 hours at a time.
- Work with pallet jacks, knives, tape guns, barcode applicator machine, label printers, RF scanner.
