Position: Molder Operator (12 Hour Night Shift) - $17.49 per hour

Summary

Responsible for inspecting, cutting, trimming, and packing pipe fittings produced by the injection molding machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to Production Supervisor; follow direction from Injection Molding Manager or Acting Supervisor.
  • Safely and efficiently perform top‑quality operational duties on a daily basis.
  • Identify plastic fittings by name, shape, and dimension.
  • Achieve 100% of targeted output by meeting daily performance goals.
  • Complete production line paperwork accurately and in real time.
  • Ensure quality of work through proper labeling and verification of correctness for all types of molded fittings and their packaging.
  • Set up and verify weight scales.
  • Detect, segregate, and isolate non‑conforming quality defects and notify Mold Technician, Supervisor, Manager, or QA Department.
  • Identify various types of quality defects such as short shots, burn, weld lines, watermarks, defective threads.
  • Minimize downtime by escalating machine‑related problems to Mold Technician.
  • Assist with the changeover process and ensure proper line clearance and start‑up with efficiency in mind.
  • Maintain proper organization and cleanliness of assigned work area to highest standards (5S).
  • Perform 5S audit for each work area assigned daily.
  • Train new Injection Molding personnel on: setting up work stations, identifying labels, detecting quality defects, cutting techniques, 5S, and counting cartons/cases.
  • Work with minimum supervision; perform other duties assigned by supervision or management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (not required).
  • Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills and counting ability.
  • Reasoning ability to solve problems with multiple possible solutions.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to cut and trim parts for long periods while standing for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds on occasion; some stations may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Work with minimal equipment such as pruning shears, cutting shears, knife, air sander, air saws, tape gun, code stamp.
Work Environment

General factory environment. Exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, oil/grease, and traveling powered industrial vehicles.
