We service more than 50,000 customers through a network of over 600 consultative sales associates and provide world-class ingredients from 40+ countries. We seek a driven, customer-focused Sales Associate who thrives on building relationships and delivering innovative food service solutions.
Position Summary: As a Sales Associate, you act as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building and maintaining strong relationships. You will be responsible for selling our fine products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments by performing the duties described below.
Responsibilities- Grow Revenue:
Generate sales through the development of new business opportunities and by expanding relationships with existing accounts - Build Customer Portfolio:
Compile lists of prospective customers for sale leads from networking, business directories, trade shows, websites, and other sources - Travel:
Travel within the assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to secure orders - Showcase Our Value:
Present products using samples or catalogs that highlight key features and benefits for customer needs - Quote and Close:
Quote prices and credit terms to prepare contracts for orders obtained - Maintain Timelines:
Provide estimated delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules and collect payments in a timely manner - Stay Organized:
Maintain detailed records of business transactions, update expense reports, keep internal systems current with customer and sales data, and manage account receivables - Collaborate:
Coordinate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date - Inventory Awareness:
Track stock levels to align product availability with customer demand - Build Relationships:
Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contracts rooted in trust for long-term collaboration
- Relevant
Experience:
1-2 years in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, or working as a Chef is highly desired - Positive Attitude:
High energy, enthusiastic, a strong team player, and motivated to take responsibility - Relevant
Skills:
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects - Self-Starter:
Eager to learn quickly - Education:
College degree desired but not required - Leader:
Ability to foster a positive and innovative atmosphere - Data-Driven:
Comfortable with gathering facts to monitor progress - Determined:
Brings urgency to meet tight deadlines
- Must live within commuting distance to the assigned geographic sales area
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have some proficiency in Microsoft Suite
