The Business Development Manager role is a critical position in our high‑performing sales team, responsible for developing comprehensive business plans for assigned accounts to efficiently grow operating profits and revenues year to year, while leading and coaching Key Account Managers.

Day To Day
  • Develop, lead and actualize a strategic business plan that grows operating profits and revenue year to year with the assigned customer group, focusing on distribution, merchandising execution, “identify region growth opportunities and category management.”
  • Communicate clear goals and provide visibility to performance against those goals.
  • Utilize syndicated data (Circana, CRM, consumer) to identify business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with KAMs to set goals and objectives, develop the sales presentation, and support and assist in the region planning process.
  • Manage and allocate local trade and promotional spending budgets in alignment with region guidelines.
  • Assess and evaluate business results of assigned customers and recommend strategic changes if necessary.
  • Develop strong partnerships with customer key decision makers at all levels within the organization.
  • Collaborate with MSM to ensure alignment of executional objectives within the market.
  • Strive for operational excellence with efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Engage in performance process coaching and learning to grow the sales organization.
  • Provide a development plan for each Key Account Manager to support advancement.
  • Accurately manage business performance data for timely reporting to the Account Sales Director.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition in recruiting new KAMs and SAMs as per company guidelines.
  • Develop and align personalized development plans for direct reports based on the Sales Competency Model.
  • Provide ongoing coaching aligned with Performance Management standards and the Sales Competency Model.
  • Communicate with impact consistently with the team, cross‑functional partners, and customers.
  • Create a culture fostering cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency, integrity, and exceptional performance.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business; MBA preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in developing and leading strategy in account management and/or wholesaler management within a consumer goods category.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts.
  • Proven ability to communicate with impact in written and verbal form.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, leadership, coaching, and teamwork skills, including team management.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand complex data and develop actionable initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MSA data, Salesforce, and syndicated data.

Annual Base Salary Range: $160,000 to $200,000
