Responsibilities
- Inspect cranes, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
- Able to diagnose and/or determine technical problems
- Able to perform regular inspection of all equipment within the department
- Must document all repairs and parts replacement for equipment files
- Be able to read, understand and follow hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams
- Able to perform/execute repairs on equipment within the department
- Mentor apprentices
- Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner
- Understand and support Business Policies and Procedures
- Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed
- Carry out all work in accordance with business policies and procedures, including the use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned by supervision
- Diagnostics and repair of electrical and mechanical failures in diesel engines
- Change engine clutch
- Diagnostic and repair of faults on electric system
- Diagnostics and repair of electrical and mechanical failures in hydraulic systems
- Diagnose and repair fault on air system
- Check hydraulic pressures
- General mechanical repairs on crawler crane
- Safety crane inspection (Boom, pendant lines, wire rope, and structure)
- Knowledge of crawler crane OSHA regulations
- Must have sufficient training and experience in repairing of major brands of cranes & Heavy Equipment, Trucks and Trailers in fleet
- Must have experience on Crawler Cranes to include:
- Kobleco
- American
- Link Belt
- Minitowoc
- Journeyman trade certificate
- Leadership, basic computer knowledge and strong organizational skills and experience will be an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience with cranes.
