Job Duties
Including, but not limited to:
- Torch cut outlines of a 15x 10 ft piece from vessel for removal.
- Torch cut rigging points for crane to connect to piece.
- Rig piece to be detached from vessel.
- Removing mast, posts, boilers, engines, hatch covers, etc. by torch cutting and rigging.
- 40 hours plus overtime in a week.
- Inside enclosed or confined spaces.
- From heights.
- Hot (up to 110°F) or cold weather (as low as 35°F).
- Near moving equipment operations.
- Work Environment:
Scrap metal recycling and torch cutting area. - Equipment & tools:
Oxy-fuel torch cutting equipment, mechanics tools. - Physical demand level:
Moderate to heavy. - Work capacity:
Torch cutter work capacity. - Sensory demands:
Hearing, vision, touch, smell and taste. - Hand movements:
Repetitive motions, gripping.
