Location: Brownsville, TX
Pay: $22 – $35 per hour
About the RoleWe’re seeking a dependable, safety‑focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support civil construction projects by operating a variety of equipment, maintaining machinery, and following all site safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in efficient, precise equipment operation and thrives in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
What You’ll Do- Safely and effectively operate various types and sizes of heavy civil construction equipment, including dozers, tractors, scrapers, loaders, and excavators.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and on‑site management instructions.
- Operate equipment efficiently to support project timelines and production goals.
- Perform routine equipment monitoring, inspections, and maintenance.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality as needed.
- Support additional site tasks as directed to ensure smooth project operations.
- Minimum two years of construction experience.
- Strong understanding of safe equipment operation and jobsite safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, and crawl.
- Ability to correctly rig and hoist materials.
- Comfortable working at heights and maintaining balance.
- Able to enter equipment cabs positioned 3.5 feet or more off the ground.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, handle materials, and work outdoors in extreme weather (cold, wet, heat).
- Willingness to work long, irregular hours (50–70 hours per week).
- Reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
- Ability to safely perform all essential job functions while meeting productivity expectations.
- Minimum two years of construction experience.
