Service Technician
Orbitalum, an ITW company, currently has an opening for a Service Technician in its Brownsville, TX repair facility. This dynamic person will be expected to perform a variety of operations involving equipment assembly, component replacement, inventory management, technical training, shipping/receiving and computer related tasks.
Essential Job Functions- Perform computer related tasks such as order entry, inventory transactions, and shipping paperwork
- Perform repairs and rebuilds on customer equipment, including installation of components and testing
- Maintain repair facility, inventory, and the equipment needed to test machines
- Travel to customers for on-site training and diagnostics
- Use company provided work truck to deliver/pick up machines
- Travel to customers for repair and service of machines in the field
- Log equipment in and out of the system via serials, ensuring accurate tracking of customer information
- Work independently to prioritize tasks and meet service deadlines
- Complete and enter repair estimates for customer-owned equipment
- Communicate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and ensure timely service completion
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
- Additional duties and tasks as assigned
- HS diploma, GED and/or 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Aptitude with various power tools preferred.
- Ability to communicate with others and problem-solve as necessary
- Good communication skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills/knowledge of Office, Word and Excel computer programs
Compensation range - $22.30-$30.20/hr; based on experience.
