Bus Driver
Job Title
Assists Special Education students in loading/boarding and unloading from the bus. Supervises students as they board and leave bus and cross street. Ensures that all students are properly buckled in for safe transportation to and from school. Assists Bus Driver in evacuation of students during emergency situations. Learns and adapts assistance to each student's special medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs.
Manages student behavior and reports discipline problems to appropriate administrator. Communicates with teachers and parents regularly regarding student behavior while on bus. Becomes familiar with all routes to and from school to be of assistance to bus driver. Helps driver keep bus clean. Works irregular hours as needed. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Performs any other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED);
One year of related experience in working with students or parents;
Experience may be work in church-related schools, day campus, or other similar experiences that would be acceptable to the school district.
