Job Summary
Maintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing warehouse; supervising staff. Maintains a safe and productive work environment whereby the team has clear direction, goals, training and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities- Sets the tone and expectations for daily activities using strong leadership skills and proper utilization of shift group leaders.
- Works closely with customer service to align resources to demand.
- Accomplishes warehouse human‑resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
- Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
- Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
- Orders consumable items in a manner that prevents stock outs without carrying excess inventory.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
- Maintains accurate inventory by conducting physical cycle counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
- Secures warehouse and yard by turning alarms on; testing systems, monitoring cameras, enforcing policies.
- Keeps equipment operating well by enforcing proper operation, training and implementing suitable operator‑level PM’s, supplying detailed information on service requirements to maintenance; tracking equipment uptime.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by developing and tracking key KPI’s relative to productivity, inventory accuracy, customer complaints and the like.
- Measures and reports the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.
- Achieves high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods/services.
- Ensures shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
- Clearly communicates job expectations and coaches employees.
- Takes disciplinary actions as needed.
- Determines staffing levels and assigns workload.
- Maintains items record, documents necessary information and utilizes reports to project warehouse status.
- Identifies areas of improvement and establishes innovative or adjusts existing work procedures and practices.
- Confer and coordinate activities with other departments or external resources such as plowing, pest control, pallet supplier and the like.
High School Diploma or GED required with some post‑secondary education; 3+ years prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
Qualifications- Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
- Experience with SAP, AX or other ERP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse WMS software packages, RF gun scanning and MS Office proficiency.
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
- Experience with change management, results‑driven and safety‑driven.
- Hands‑on commitment to getting the job done.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Must be able to work a 2nd Shift: 2pm‑12am or 2:30pm‑12:30am Monday‑Friday.
- Must be able to work overtime based on business needs (e.g., Saturdays, 50+hours/week).
- Must be currently residing in or near Brownsville, TN to commute daily to our facility.
The employee may be required to stand and walk regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee may occasionally sit. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration; high, precarious places; and noisy surroundings.
