Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hours per week in medical-surgical unit

• Patient ratios of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends

• Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule

• One call shift per 6 week schedule

• 40 hours of orientation provided

• Care for adults and geriatrics with daily census of 10-13 patients

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

• 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred

• Skills include short stay 23-hour unit, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, ABG interpretation, telemetry, medication administration (heparin, insulin, PCA), wound care, chest tube management, airway management, and isolation precautions

• Patient diagnoses include post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and urology cases

• Allscripts charting system experience preferred

• Must be available to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer

• Facility conducts mandatory drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing

• Non-billable modules averaging 6-8 hours completed during orientation
