- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week — night shift L&D RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (labor & delivery)
- Orientation: 16 hours (includes modules averaging 6-8 hours, completed during orientation)
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,040 - $2,150 per week
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at submission (L&D RN / Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required (perinatal nursing, L&D clinical experience)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting preferred (electronic medical record experience)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must be able to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse, travel RN)
- Must pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and recovery as a Labor & Delivery RN
- Monitor and assess patients using fetal monitoring, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), and non-stress tests (NST)
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
- Administer medications and therapies, including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Perform and document newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and cord care; support Level II NICU needs
- Educate and support new parents on breastfeeding, car seat safety, and discharge instructions
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and physical therapy
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
