Travel Labor & Delivery RN job at a hospital in Brownwood, TX: provide maternity and newborn care on 12-hour night shifts in an on-site hospital setting.
Compensation- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2040–$2150

- Start Date: 03/30/2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (through 06/29/2026)
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Hours: 36 hours/week (may be considered for 48 hours/week based on unit needs)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2 (days/nights/weekends)
- Unit Snapshot: 5 rooms; 6 beds; average daily census 1–5
- Charting/EMR: Allscripts
- Charting: Altera experience preferred, not required

Contract:
6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks time frame
- Experience: 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required (intrapartum/postpartum)
- License: Active RN license (license in hand required at submittal)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Clinical
Skills:
Fetal monitoring (external/internal), sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, induction/augmentation of labor, and management of high-risk OB medications (e.g., magnesium sulfate, pitocin, antihypertensives) - Preferred: Travel nursing experience
- Provide intrapartum and postpartum nursing care, including assessment, monitoring, and patient/family education
- Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring; recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Support vaginal deliveries and operative births; assist with and recover C-sections (circulate and/or scrub as trained)
- Manage obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and rapid changes in maternal-fetal status
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy and titrate infusions per protocol
- Provide couplet care and newborn support as needed (APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, /security banding, breastfeeding/lactation support, discharge teaching)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, coordinated care
