About This Role

Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Logistics Technician at the SRO facility located in Orange, TX. Dow is looking for top‑caliber, technically capable Logistics Technicians who embrace change, adapt fast, make decisions quickly, possess self‑confidence and are lifelong learners. These positions require a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities
  • Performs routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.
  • Lift hoses, operating valves and similar equipment, including proper clearing and isolation of equipment.
  • Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
  • Operates and field checks process equipment.
  • Monitors process conditions, equipment and control systems.
  • Performs tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation and samples.
  • Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals.
  • Uses troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
  • Performs crisis response activities including but not limited to immediate response duties.
  • Controls, monitors and makes necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment.
  • Operates process equipment including waste management activities, loading/offloading of barges.
  • Maintains accurate logs, records, reports and inspection checklists.
  • Troubleshoots product quality, safety and environmental problems and identifies equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Prepares equipment for maintenance, issues Safe Work Permits and monitors daily maintenance work.
  • Ensures safe and efficient performance of maintenance and project work.
  • Acts as a resource for other Technicians on job tasks and prioritizes work activities.
  • Takes ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Participates in site Emergency Response Team, if required.
  • Completes all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Executes EHS Standards and Operating Disciplines with a high degree of ownership and excellence.
Required Qualifications

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required and one of the following:

  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator or similar experience, an associate’s degree or higher in a process technology, science or engineering related field.
  • Three or more years of relevant military service.

Current, valid US driver’s license. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Process Plant Technology or related field.
  • Experience with in a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience issuing safe work permits.
Physical Demands

Must be willing and able to:

• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required, including a respirator (must pass a fit test).

• Perform frequent bending, reaching, pulling and lifting with or without an accommodation.

• Climb stairs and work at heights with or without an accommodation.

• Stand or walk for extended periods of time with or without an accommodation.

• Work outdoors in the plant in all types of weather.

• Climb stairs, ladders and work at heights greater than or equal to 4 ft off the ground.

• Wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs (typically for individuals who weigh 285 lbs or less).

• Meet the physical requirements for the emergency response team.
