American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital with fewer than 100 births per month
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• May consider candidates open to 36 hours/week
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Provides care across antepartum, L&D, mother/baby, and postpartum settings

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, EFM, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and postpartum care
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required
• Travel experience preferred

• Responsibilities include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching
• Provides support for high-risk conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with immediate cancellation for positive results
• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products
• Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or provide a completion plan
• RN/LVN candidates must reside within a 150-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates are not accepted for Allied or CNA positions
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
