Job Overview

Title: Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service (Pawnbroker)

Location: 209 W. Commerce St., Brownwood, Texas 76801

Pay Range: $12.50 – $15.00 per hour, with potential increases through performance and training.

This role involves interacting with customers on the floor, processing sales, loans, and extensions, and performing opening and closing store duties. It is designed for individuals who enjoy building relationships and delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced retail environment.

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person and on the phone.
• Process sales, loans, and extensions for pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, musical instruments, and more.
• Perform opening and closing store duties, ensuring all systems and displays are ready for the next shift.
• Maintain a friendly, courteous, and respectful store environment.
• Engage customers in mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multitasking ability.
• Pass a criminal background check and drug test (performed after a conditional offer).
• Knowledge of commonly pawned items (tools, jewelry, firearms, electronics) – a plus.
• Sales experience – a plus.
• Bilingual – a plus.
• Adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Start as a Trainee in a 5‑week paid training program and earn a $0.50 hourly raise upon completion with promotion to Pawnbroker. Continue to grow through the Pawnbroker Certification Program, gaining an additional $1.00 per hour. Advance to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader) or apply for Assistant Manager, which includes a 6‑month training program to build the foundation for running your own store.
