Mid-Level Diesel Technician – Brownwood, TX
Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Brownwood, TX. This is a stable position with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: up to $700 (based on new ASE Certification)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times per year)
- Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday - Hours:
First Shift Tuesday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm;
Saturday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO in first year, starting Day 1

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints when assigned a task
- Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification (post‑secondary degree or technical certifications) preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance experience (oil changes, brake and tire work) required
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
