Position Description
Senior Level Diesel Technician - Brownwood, TX.
Salary and Benefits- Hourly Pay: $28.23 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification (up to $700 total)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter
- Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday (first shift Tuesday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Saturday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) - Benefits:

- Minimum tool requirement
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid CDL (A) highly desired; mandatory in some locations
- State license as required
- Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once a task is assigned
- Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Works in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrates ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Completes 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix within 365 days
- Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
