Join Our Team as a Foster Care Support Specialist at Texas Family Initiative! Do you enjoy working with children and families? Are you looking for a job with a hybrid work schedule? Then Texas Family Initiative has the perfect opportunity for you!
Position Summary

Provides aftercare case management, kinship caregiver support, transitional living assistance, and parenting support services for children and youth involved in the Texas Foster Care Program. Works to promote child well-being, maintain placement stability, and connect families with needed community resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide up to six months of aftercare support for youth discharged from foster care.
  • Support kinship caregivers with verification requirements, navigating the child welfare system, and accessing services.
  • Assist youth transitioning to independent living by coordinating with case managers and support programs.
  • Deliver parenting education and support, including child development, safe sleep, childproofing, and access to community resources.
  • Develop and implement individualized aftercare service plans.
  • Maintain regular contact with children and families through in-person, virtual, and phone meetings.
  • Coordinate referrals and community services to ensure ongoing stability and support.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and case records.
  • Collaborate with agency staff, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Promote cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and family-centered practices.
  • Transport clients and travel for agency business as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years of experience in child and family services preferred.
  • Strong communication, case management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
