HGV Technician

Competitive Salary + OVERTIME + BONUS + £3000 SIGNING ON BONUS

Shift Pattern (Mon – Thu 6am‑2.30pm, Mon – Thu 2pm‑10.30pm, Fri 6am‑1.30pm/1pm‑8.30pm, Sat 7am‑Noon on rota, 1 shift every 4 weeks).

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGVs or completion of an apprenticeship in HGV industry
• HGV licence (required for road testing)

What you’ll do

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks
• Fault find and repair engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems etc. to high standards according to Volvo procedures
• Assist in fault diagnosis and road test vehicles when required
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets; process relevant paperwork accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Maintain workshop facilities, equipment and tools tidy and well‑maintained
• Assist with roadside breakdowns
• Support trainees and apprentices development
