Glyndale Baptist Church is actively seeking to hire a part-time Financial Secretary/Treasurer with a love for God, a servant's heart, and the ability to work in a church environment. This position supports church operations by managing the church financial records and preparing financial reports as needed.
Glyndale Baptist Church is located in Brunswick, Georgia at exit 36 off I-95 on the coast of Southeast Georgia.
Responsibilities Include- Maintain all church financial records, receive and answer financial questions, and maintain invoices.
- Reconcile monthly bank and investment statements.
- Verify deposits for accuracy for all monies received.
- Prepare and issue checks in accordance with church policy, ensuring all bills are paid in a timely manner.
- Prepare and distribute payroll. Maintain records for PTO and sick leave. Maintain timesheets for all part-time staff.
- Maintain records and make timely deposits for employee withholding taxes, employer FICA, retirement, and other benefits.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports/tax filing for federal and state requirements.
- Collect, assemble data, prepare monthly reports, and agenda for Finance Ministry meeting. Serve as a representative of the Finance Ministry in coordinating with other ministry budgets for fiscal year.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date contribution statements on all church members.
- Serve as supply coordinator, ensuring all office equipment/supplies are available upon request, and coordinating work/repairs/purchases with Ministry chairmen.
- Record expenses and reconcile monthly church credit card statements.
- Assist with additional office duties in the absence of other staff members as workload demands.
- Profess a genuine Christian testimony and character.
- Be available Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with an hour for lunch.
- Must be pleasant, discreet, tactful, and capable of honoring confidential information.
- Must possess good telephone and communication skills, able to deal with various types of personalities, both on the phone and in person, in a professional manner.
- Be proficient in current Microsoft/Office Professional Suite program (Word, Excel, Power Point).
