The Clerk I provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support to Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) programs. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining records, entering data, preparing correspondence and reports, processing program-related documentation, and assisting consumers, staff, and visitors. This position serves as an administrative resource to assigned departments while ensuring efficient office operations and excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:

Greets visitors, consumers, family members, and staff; determines the purpose of visits and directs individuals appropriately.

Uses agency-approved scheduling software and electronic systems to schedule consumer appointments.

Performs data entry and maintains records in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Collects fees and payments for services when assigned.

Performs clerical duties including copying, scanning, filing, record maintenance, and document distribution.

Completes forms and documentation in accordance with organizational procedures.

Utilizes Microsoft Office applications to prepare correspondence, reports, meeting notes, and other documents.

Purchases, tracks, and maintains office supplies and stock items as assigned.

Receives, opens, routes, and distributes incoming mail, email, and other correspondence.

Answers telephones, responds to inquiries, takes messages, and transfers calls appropriately.

Maintains confidentiality of consumer, personnel, and organizational information.

Prepares and distributes reports to appropriate individuals and departments.

Maintains personnel, consumer, and administrative files in an organized manner.

Records and maintains meeting minutes and related documentation.

Performs responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Required Knowledge &

Knowledge of the Georgia Open Records Act.

Knowledge of agency confidentiality requirements.

Knowledge of agency-specific forms, software, and operational procedures.

Knowledge of scheduling systems and office workflow processes.
