Job Summary
The School of Arts & Sciences seeks a dynamic candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Biology. This is an academic year 10-month contract. The contract is expected to begin August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- * Develop and teach a variety of courses in biology, ranging from general education courses to upper-division courses for Biological Sciences and Environmental Science majors.
* Maintain on-campus office hours; prepare lesson plans, syllabi (including course objectives), lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams; and submit final grades and attendance reports on time.
* Engagement in professional development, service, and scholarship activities.
* Some online teaching may be required, as needed.
* Travel to fulfill instructional or other duties, including to the Brunswick Campus or the Camden Center location.
* Academic advising, mentoring, and career counseling.
* Commitment to high-impact educational practices.
Required Qualifications

* Ph.D. in Biology or a closely-related discipline.

* Commitment to implementing experiential learning and high-impact educational practices in the classroom, lab, and/or field.

* Successful teaching experience.

* Expertise in coastal and marine ecology.
* Experience with in-person and online/hybrid instruction.
* Recent experience teaching college-level courses in biology.
* Experience mentoring undergraduate research.
* Experience developing and implementing innovative pedagogy.
