Job SummaryThe Annual Giving Officer reports to the Director of Development and leads strategy, execution, and growth of two cornerstone programs: the Navigator Society (leadership annual giving) and the Mariner Day of Giving. This role drives donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades; cultivates a portfolio of leadership annual donors; and orchestrates a high
¿ impact, community
¿ wide Day of Giving that activates ambassadors, digital channels, and matching challenges. The Officer partners closely with Advancement Services, Marketing & Communications, Alumni Relations, and campus/unit partners to deliver measurable, sustainable growth in annual support and pipeline to major gifts.
- 1 - Build and manage a robust portfolio of new and existing annual giving donors of up to $1,000 via personal visits (in person or virtual), phone, email, social media, and text.
- 2 - Set and exceed ambitious but reasonable metrics for contacts, visits, solicitations, and dollars received.
- 3 - Design and execute a comprehensive identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plan for the Navigator Society, Mariner Day of Giving, and Alumni to maximize giving and participation as well as encourage the renewal, upgrade, and retention of donors.
- 4 - Oversee the Advancement giving platform, page architecture, unit pages, and real
¿ time dashboards. - 5 - Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to spotlight the Navigator Society, its members, and its impact across campus.
- 6 - Develop and implement innovative digital marketing strategies to enhance annual fundraising efforts, leveraging email campaigns, social media, web content, and emerging platforms to engage new and existing donors.
- 7 - Work with the Advancement Team to include Navigator Society members in appropriate special events and design targeted events and benefits exclusively for members.
- 8 - Participate in stewardship and major donor activities such as ribbon cuttings, donor dinners, building openings, gift announcements, alumni events, etc.
- 9 - Performs related work as required
- -Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Required Qualifications
- -Two years in fundraising/development, recruitment, marketing, sales or related field.
Preferred Experience
- -Demonstrated 3-6 years of successful fund raising and/or business sales experience, meeting stated company goals consistently/regularly
- -Strong writing and storytelling skills for digital content creation (emails, landing pages, social posts).
- -Knowledge of fundraising best practices.
