Mechanical Project Engineer​/Manager - Brunswick

Brunswick Cellulose of Georgia‑Pacific, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support projects at our Brunswick, GA site. The role is heavily involved in developing and managing project scopes and works closely with both internal and external teams.

• Support the manufacturing operation and maintenance activities with engineering principles, expertise, and leadership in solving and improving the equipment, processes, and procedures in the mill.
• Understand and utilize the Principle Based Management Guiding Principles in a Project Engineering role to create value for the Brunswick facility.
• Use the GP Business Process for Projects (BPP) to provide project management services for the Brunswick facility.
• Manage projects through design, troubleshooting, technological standardization, innovation, maintenance strategies, and energy efficiency activities.
• Develop project scopes, estimates, write equipment specifications, review quotes, and recommend equipment and materials for projects.
• Negotiate and manage contractors, schedules, budgets, checkout, commissioning, start‑up, and other engineering/management activities.
• Mentor operational teams in the GP Business Process for Projects (BPP).
• Prepare scope and cost estimates for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects and participate in justification, specification reviews, drawing reviews, and safety reviews.
• Provide detailed design support and technical assistance to operations, purchasing, and construction management to solve urgent and long‑term issues, focusing on asset reliability and sustainability.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, leadership, external suppliers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to develop all aspects of design requirements for each project.
• Assure systems function properly during pre‑ and post‑startup.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work an extended schedule during critical project execution periods and annual mill outages.

• Experience leading projects in an industrial environment.
• Proven communication skills with internal and external audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD products and Microsoft Project.

• BS in Engineering.
• Experience leading projects involving mechanical equipment.
• Project Management experience in the pulp & paper industry.
