In this role you will learn and apply all aspects of Georgia‑Pacific’s maintenance workflow process. This role focuses on detailed job planning and coordination to support the facility. The position requires a motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented individual with knowledge of industrial equipment, processes, and procedures.

A successful candidate will have a long‑term continuous improvement focus that values establishing systemic processes that are system‑versus‑people dependent and create sustainable value.

Our Team

The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country, featuring a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The mill is located in the southeast corner of Georgia, within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL, and Savannah, GA.

What You Will Do
  • Providing detailed planning and materials procurement for maintenance shutdowns and daily operations and annual outages within the facility.
  • Developing and managing maintenance plans through Microsoft Project software and the Asset Suite CMMS system, ensuring all information, such as Bills of Materials and specifications, is continuously updated.
  • Supporting mill maintenance crews and contractors directly during maintenance shutdown days and outages, with an emphasis on efficient coordination and scheduling of mechanical maintenance work.
  • Collaborating extensively with craftspeople, operations, contractor representatives, and materials suppliers to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
  • Enhancing safety through the creation of detailed Job Hazard Analysis documentation and adherence to Georgia‑Pacific permitting and procedures, while leading safety practices by example.
  • Performing rotating weekend on‑call duties approximately once per quarter for the entire mill and occasionally covering responsibilities of other mechanical leaders.
  • Demonstrating urgency and discipline in balancing break‑in and scheduled work, with a focus on developing a weekly work forecast and championing timely identification and development of maintenance outage work.
  • Applying economic and critical‑thinking skills with a risk‑taking mentality to ensure maintenance spending delivers long‑term value for the product system and mill.
  • Encouraging personal ownership among mechanics and operators and fostering the growth of their capabilities while collaborating with Area Leaders to prioritize work.
  • Assisting in manpower optimization and sharing insights with other Reliability Coordinators and Planners, maintaining Planning Board metrics, and providing performance explanations weekly and monthly.
  • Coordinating and managing outage parts, rentals, and contractor needs by submitting requisitions and tracking their progress.
  • Submitting Major Expense Project (MEP) requests for parts or contractor services as required.
  • Creating and validating Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) and/or Model Work Orders to provide detailed instructions for job execution and ensure compliance.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or military environment.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) (e.g., 4site, SAP, Passport, etc.).
  • Experience with adhering to safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Maintenance or Reliability experience in pulp and paper industry.
  • Experience with pipe fabrication, torquing, rotating equipment, and pump alignment.
  • Experience with Passport Asset Suite CMMS.
  • Experience with tracking purchase orders from generation to invoicing.
  • Experience planning and managing outages/shutdowns.
