Job Summary

This position manages components of the college's human resource functions including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance. This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Responsibilities
  • 1 - Maintains institutional compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • 2 - Assists in the coordination and recruitment process of employees. May serve on selection committees.
  • 3 - Coordinates the orientation of new employees; and manages the employee termination processes for the institution.
  • 4 - Manages all aspects of employee wellness and benefits programs including leave administration and retirement counsel.
  • 5 - Participates in planning, executing and managing HR projects and initiatives.
  • 6 - Manages a variety of HRIS/HCM functions and provides reporting and data management by tracking and analyzing key metrics to enhance and support HR service delivery.
  • 7 - Assists with employee relations and performance evaluation processes as directed.
  • 8 - Prepares, disseminates and/or delivers a variety of reports, communications, workshops, information sessions and/or training.
  • 9 - Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • More than three years of related experience.

  • Higher Education human resource experience
  • People Soft HR systems
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with files and sensitive situations.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to employment and benefits.
  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures.
Skills
  • Skill to make timely decisions.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
