Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Learning & Development Site Leader who will shape the future workforce of a manufacturing facility by building training systems that accelerate employee capability, support operational excellence, and help employees reach their full potential. This role plays a critical part in advancing safety, reliability, retention, and business performance by ensuring employees are equipped to succeed. The L&D Site Leader will partner closely with site leadership, Human Resources, Corporate L&D, operations, and hourly trainers to strengthen technical training, onboarding, qualification processes, and employee development while applying Principle Based Management.
WhatYou Will Do
- Lead and manage hourly technical training, qualification, and onboarding processes to improve employee capability, reduce time to competency, and support safe, reliable operations.
- Develop, update, and standardize technical training content, curriculum, and learning materials that align with site needs, business priorities, and PBM expectations.
- Support capital projects and strategic investments by developing and implementing training, qualification, and change management plans that prepare employees to safely and effectively operate new equipment, technologies, and processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop Area L&D Leaders, training coordinators, and hourly trainers while driving accountability and measurable improvements in safety, workforce capability, quality, reliability, productivity, retention, and overall business performance.
- Partner with site leadership, Human Resources, and operations teams to identify training gaps, prioritize high-value opportunities, and align learning resources to support safety, quality, retention, productivity, and operational results.
- Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders by providing feedback, coaching, and development support that enables employees to continuously improve their capabilities, create greater value, and maximize their contributions.
- Review training effectiveness and business outcomes, share best practices across the L&D organization, and ensure learning initiatives remain aligned with the facility's greatest opportunities and strategic priorities.
- Experience developing, delivering, or leading technical, operational, or manufacturing training.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, facilitating training, or developing employees in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Experience leading teams, projects, training programs, or initiatives within a manufacturing, operations, or industrial environment.
- Ability to partner with operations, Human Resources, site leadership, and hourly trainers to identify needs and implement training solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in pulp and paper or other industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience designing, implementing, and improving structured qualifications or technical training programs within an LMS.
- Experience using training metrics, audit results, or business measures to improve training effectiveness and operational outcomes.
- Experience improving new hire orientation, retention, onboarding, technical capability, or time to competency.
- Experience leading through PBM, coaching others, and building collaborative teams that share and scale best practices.
