The District Attorney's Office for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit prosecutes individuals who have been charged with the commission of felony crimes in the five Georgia counties it serves, Jeff Davis County, Appling County, Wayne County, Glynn County, and Camden County. In Camden County, the Office is also responsible for the prosecution of misdemeanors.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for an Assistant District Attorney located in Brunswick, GA. The individual in this role will handle legal proceedings, prosecutions, research and interpret laws, prepare and present cases in court, and represent the state in criminal justice matters. Responsibilities include collaborating with law enforcement, negotiating plea agreements, preparing legal documentation, and advocating in trials and hearings.
The Assistant District Attorney will work closely with the legal team to seek justice for crime victims and make the community a safer place for its citizens to live, work, and raise their families.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, and related legal issues
- Familiarity with the operations and procedures of Courts and Law Enforcement
- Expertise in handling legal issues and delivering strong courtroom advocacy
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement, colleagues, and other legal professionals
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia
- Admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to justice
- Prior experience working in litigation or prosecutor roles is preferred
