Position SummaryFull‑time Maintenance Technician III – Crew Leader to perform maintenance operations in the Brunswick area. This advanced technical and skilled role within our field organization is most likely assigned to a crew responsible for increasing difficult maintenance work requiring knowledge of local standards and specifications. The Crew Leader is responsible for completing Daily Work Reports, managing a crew and performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, concrete repair, etc.,
while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Minimum 1 year of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)- various parts of roadway, bridge, drainage structures and other road furniture
- types of damage sustained by highway infrastructure due to mechanical wear and environmental conditions
- materials used to repair highway infrastructure
- order of procedure to lift heavy objects
- correct work methods for various activities required to maintain and repair highway infrastructure
- Emergency patching, permanent patching, skim patching with hot mix crack sealing, hand mowing, litter/debris removal, ditch cleaning, liquid asphalt skim patching, surface treatment hot mix asphalt overlay, tree trimming, brush cutting, stump grinding, pipe repair/placement, leaf cleanup with machine bituminous concrete curb, bridge maintenance
- work requirements within a road work zone
- rules of the road for safe driving
- PM checks for small service vehicles and pickups
- Roadway maintenance experience
- MOT Certifications
Clean driving record is essential. Must pass criminal background check.
QualificationsEducation and Training. High School Diploma, some college courses preferred, but not required.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience. 3-5 years.
- Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smartphone and applications
- Ability to adjust to a changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
